Pankey shot over 50 percent from the field, was perfect from the free throw line and reached double figures in each of Fairleigh Dickinson’s two NEC games last week. The New Jersey native averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest against the NEC’s Brooklyn contingent. Pankey went 7-for-10 (.700) shooting from the field over the two-game sample and sank all 11 of her free throw attempts. Pankey helped apply the brakes to Fairleigh Dickinson’s four-game NEC slide, scoring 16 points in a 69-49 triumph over St. Francis (NY). The 5-foot-11 former All-Shore Conference high school standout scored in double figures for the seventh time this season when she finished with 10 against NEC preseason favorite Long Island. The 16 points she scored in the win over SFNY are the most by the freshman against an NEC opponent this season. Pankey’s overall single-game season high is 20 points in a six-point setback to Fordham on November 23. The freshman forward picks up her third Choice Hotels rookie award of the season, but first since the last week of November.
