Despite a six-week lay-off, Chepelsky looked far from rusty when St. Francis (NY) opened the second half of the collegiate bowling season at the Bowie State Lady Bulldog Classic. After posting a 174.0 traditional average over her first two traditional games, Chepelsky caught fire and bowled three consecutive 200-plus performances. Her high game of 222 helped the Terriers to a 162-pin rout of Virginia State. Chepelsky accounted for the highest six-game traditional average (192.33) of all Northeast Conference competitors in attendance. The rookie bowler carried her hot hand into championship bracket baker play the following day when St. Francis closed the meet by defeating North Carolina A&T and Florida A&M. Chepelsky averaged 18.91 pins/frame while filling 83.3 percent of frames bowled over the entire two-day event. She registered a team-high 42 strikes, cashing in on 41.6 percent of her attempts.
