Aliotta surged up the NEC leader board while setting Monmouth’s shot put record at the Great Dane Classic in New York City. The rookie thrower put the shot 13.94m (45’ 9”) to claim bronze amongst a number of the region’s elite competitors. Aliotta’s mark breaks an 11-year old Monmouth record and ranks her second on the NEC performance list this season, trailing only defending NEC champion Christin Bridge of Saint Francis (PA). Her throw also qualifies the first-year Hawk for the ECAC Championships in March and the U.S. Junior National Championships in Oregon in June.
