After surging to the top of the Northeast Conference performance list, Fajoyomi becomes the second straight high jumper to win the NEC’s weekly rookie award. The 6-foot-5 Fajoyomi cleared 2.11m (6’11”) to win the New York City Gotham Cup. He is one of only 26 NCAA Division I high jumpers to reach that height thus far this season. The first-year Terrier’s performance came one week after Monmouth rookie Tommy Butler made himself the early NEC favorite by leaping 2.07m (6’ 9.5”) at the Metro Coaches Invitational, which was also held at New York City’s 168th Street Armory.
