DeLoreto becomes the first distance runner to win the NEC weekly track award this season. Turning in a sensational early-season performance in the 5,000-meter, the SHU senior bested the field at Army’s Carleton Crowell Invitational by nearly one minute and 50 seconds. Despite the lack of a true challenger in the race, DeLoreto produced a winning time (17:30.12) that ranks first in the NEC. Her converted time (from flat-track to banked) of 17:25.12 stands as the third-fastest time in all of NCAA Division I thus far this season.
