Spanou remained the Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week, claiming the honor for the fourth time this season, as a result of the double-double she averaged over a pair of NEC victories. The 6-foot forward averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in road wins over Mount St. Mary’s and Wagner. Spanou put forth a complete effort of 15 points (7-for-12 shooting), eight rebounds, five assists, and two blocks in a convincing 74-56 win over the Mount. Her double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds were key to a comeback win over Wagner that bumped the Colonials’ NEC record to a perfect 4-0. She scored 11 of her 13 points after the break to help Robert Morris overcome a seven-point halftime deficit in an eventual 62-56 triumph. Spanou broke a 48-48 tie by nailing a jump shot with 6:38 left on the clock at Wagner before sinking a pair of free throws that bumped the lead to eight points with 2:04 to play. The double-double was the Greek National Team member’s third as a collegian, and second against an NEC opponent.
