Leach became the first NEC player to eclipse the 25-point mark in back-to-back games this season, pouring in a combined 55 points during victories over regional rivals Pittsburgh and Kent State. The two-time all-NEC guard averaged 27.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per win. Leading the defending NEC champion Red Flash to victories over Big East and Mid-American Conference members, Leach shot the ball well from all areas of the floor. Her hot hand yielded a .500 field goal percentage, including a 7-for-15 (.467) clip from three-point range. The 5-foot-10 senior made all but one of her 15 free throw attempts (.933 FT%). The Mount Sterling, OH product erupted for 29 points in an 85-71 victory over Pitt, marking the second consecutive season she’s reached the 20-point plateau against the cross-state rival Panthers. Leach hit back-to-back baskets within the first 1:40 of the second half against Pitt to give Saint Francis a 49-40 advantage, its largest lead up to that point. She followed by tallying 26 points and seven assists in a 101-92 overtime win that halted Kent State’s six-game unbeaten streak.
