DiRado became the second Kutztown bowler this season to secure the NEC Rookie of the Week award, doing so as a result of her performance at the UMES Hawk Classic. The first-year Golden Bear posted a 19.53 overall frame average during the three-day tournament. Appearing in all 13 matches, 12 of which were won by Kutztown, DiRado filled 83.6 percent of the 116 frames she completed. Helping the Bears break the 1,000-pin barrier in a victory over No. 19 Norfolk State, she closed the traditional play portion of the meet by rolling a 218. DiRado posted a 191.4 traditional average over five-game sample, and was even better during baker play. The 5-foot-5 righty bowler accounted for a 19.82 baker frame average, compiling a 1,308 pinfall over 66 frames. DiRado cashed in on 47.1 percent of her strikes opportunities as Kutztown won seven of the eight baker matches it contested, a stretch that included victories over No. 4 Vanderbilt and No. 5 Central Missouri.
