Friedmann had the best weekend of her season at the Frank Elm Invitational at Rutgers University. She earned second place or better in four events this weekend, including a victory in the 200 free (1:51.47), a silver in the 500 free (4:54.42), and two more second place finishes as part of the 800 free relay (7:39.98) and 400 free relay (3:30.33). Her winning performance in the 200 free was a new meet record and just tenths of a second off her winning 2010 NEC Championship time. Even more impressive, the sophomore’s top finishes came against quick competition from the University of Pittsburgh, who took fourth in the BIG EAST last season, and Fordham University, who topped the Atlantic-10. Friedmann’s points helped the Blue Devils capture sixth place out of 15 teams at the Invitational, ahead of league rivals Saint Francis (PA), Wagner and Sacred Heart.
