Rush produced a pair of punt blocks in a 23-13 victory over Saint Francis (PA) that gave Central Connecticut a share of the Northeast Conference crown. The senior safety’s special teams prowess allowed the Blue Devils to win the field position battle against the Red Flash. After Saint Francis went three-and-out on the game’s opening possession, Rush deflected Andrew Penska’s punt which traveled 20 yards before being downed at CCSU’s 49. Seven plays later, the Blue Devils were in the end zone. Later in the first quarter, Rush again wreaked havoc. Flying into the backfield, he registered a second punt block that gave CCSU the ball at Saint Francis' 43-yard line. The triumphant season finale gave Rush and CCSU’s senior class its program-record 30th victory.
