Patterson produced 316 yards of total offense and was responsible for six touchdowns in Duquesne’s victory over Keystone State rival Saint Francis (PA). No NEC player had been responsible for more than four touchdowns in any game this season until Patterson put up 36 points in the 41-17 triumph that guaranteed the Dukes a winning overall record. Averaging a gain of 13.2 yards per pass attempt, the sophomore signal caller went 13-of-21 passing for 278 yards and five touchdowns. He gained another 38 yards on seven rush attempts, including a two-yard touchdown surge. His first of five touchdown passes, a 79-yarder to Dave Williams, wiped out Saint Francis’ 3-0 lead in the opening minute of the second quarter. With Duquesne trailing again, 10-7, Patterson found Connor Dixon for a 44-yard scoring strike 9:55 before halftime. Continuing the second-quarter scoring explosion, the sophomore quarterback recorded a two-yard touchdown rush and a 10-yard TD pass as the Dukes took a 27-17 lead into the break. After titling the balance in Duquesne’s favor, Patterson provided some second-half insurance with a pair of touchdown tosses. He logged a 10-yarder to Dixon in the third quarter followed by a nine-yard strike to Akeem Moore in the fourth.
