Matassa put on an incredible display with a number of the nation’s top teams on hand at the New Jersey Jamboree. Leading Saint Francis in what was the first-year program’s second-ever weekend of competition, Matassa was the most-productive rookie at the 18-team event. She posted a three-day frame average of 20.90 and her 212.4 traditional average was tops amongst freshmen bowlers. In fact, her traditional average was the fourth-highest of all bowlers at the event and resulted in the Red Flash rookie being named to the Jersey Jamboree All-Tournament Team. Matassa helped Saint Francis to six wins over the weekend, three of which came against nationally-ranked opponents. In a 977-840 defeat of No. 16 Morgan State, Matassa took a perfect game into the seventh frame where she recorded a 9-spare before striking out for a 276 score.
