Velaj’s game-winning goal in the 83rd minute against Sacred Heart lifted the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory and kept their chances of clinching an NEC playoff bid alive. The two-time adidas/NEC Player of the Week rose to the occasion by converting cross from teammate Jill Strassner inside the box, heading the ball into the lower left corner for the 1-0 triumph in Friday’s game. On Sunday, Velaj scored the Bobcats' second goal in their 6-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Before her goal in the 5th minute of play, she had an assist on the game's first goal by Shauna Edwards in the 3rd minute of play. The junior currently leads the team in points (19), goals (7) and assists (5).
