Bower displayed both ability and resiliency during her first weekend of collegiate bowling. Following a rather pedestrian performance during the Kutztown Fall Baker Invitational (Oct. 23), Bower bounced back by turning in a sensational effort at the KU Fall Team Tournament (Oct. 24) the following day. Helping Kutztown top the entire field in total pinfall, Bower accounted for a tournament-high 209.4 average over five traditional games. The 5-foot-6 righty bowler filled 84.9 percent of her frames and cashed in on 45.5 percent of her strike opportunities to earn MVP honors during the traditional team tournament. Both numbers were significant improvements from the previous day’s baker competition. In a small 22-frame baker sample, Bower posted a .227 strike percentage and left six opens.
