Blake won 17 of 20 singles matches as a rookie and is showing no sign of slowing down as a sophomore. The second-year Mountaineer posted two No. 1 singles victories as the Mount split a pair of dual matches. His first victim was reigning NEC Rookie of the Year Elahn Pogue. Providing one of the team’s two points in a setback to NEC rival Saint Francis (PA), Blake bested the Red Flash’s top player in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Blake rolled past Rider’s Rollie Malfitano in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, as part of the Mount’s 7-0 shutout victory the following day. Blake owns a 7-2 singles mark thus far this fall.
