Alyssa Brandofino Award NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Player of the Week Week Of 10/18/2010 Sport Women's Soccer School Sacred Heart Year Position Hometown High School Brandofino earns her first adidas/NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor after helping the Pioneers defeat Mount St. Mary’s 2-1 and shutout Monmouth in a 0-0 deadlock. The freshman assisted on both goals against Mount St. Mary’s, spotting open teammates on corner and free kick opportunities. Brandofino found an answer to Mount St. Mary’s 1-0 lead after five minutes of play in the second half, nailing a corner kick into the center box for teammate Heather Quevillion to convert for the tie. Her game-winning assist came on a free kick with only 33 seconds left in regulation to help Sacred Heart stop the Mount for good. Brandofino made use of her playmaking skills in the squad’s draw with Monmouth as her defensive efforts helped stifle any chance of a Hawk goal.
