Placide made a pair of fourth-quarter special teams plays that sealed Wagner’s 22-14 road victory over Saint Francis (PA). He logged a huge tackle for a loss (25 yds.) and recovered a fumble, both coming on punt coverage. With Wagner clinging to a 16-14 lead, a high snap went over the head of Saint Francis’ punter who was soon tackled by Placide at the Red Flash’s 9-yard line. Trailing 22-14 with under 2:00 remaining, it appeared the Red Flash would have one more chance to drive for the game-tying score, but Placide put an end to those plans. Flying down the field on punt cover, Placide pounced on a muffed return and allowed Wagner to run out the clock. Placide, a preseason all-NEC return specialist, also brought back two kickoffs for 51 yards, including a 30-yarder that set up Wagner’s second scoring drive.
