One week after her undefeated run through the Bucknell Invitational, Dementyeva posted a pair of quality wins at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Women’s Collegiate Invitational in Flushing, NY. The FDU junior opened play by upsetting the No. 3 seed in the Flight E singles bracket’s Round of 16. After outlasting Binghamton’s Yulia Smirnova in a third-set super tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8, she posted a quick victory in the quarterfinal round. Dementyeva dominated Charleston Southern’s Angie Torres, 6-0, 6-1, to advance to the semifinals where her run ended when she came up on the short side of third-set super tiebreaker.
