After yielding to teammate Ibrahim Shams last week, Gricheno returns to his NEC Player of the Week post. The Fairleigh Dickinson sophomore reached the championship match of the Flight B doubles bracket at the Columbia Classic and posted a quality singles win as well. After falling to Columbia’s John Yetimoglu in his opening match of the singles tournament, Gricheno bounced back against one of Yetimoglu’s teammates during consolation play. He outlasted the Lions’ veteran Rajeev Deb-Sen in a third-set super tiebreaker, 7-5, 5-7, 10-7. Partnering with Dom Hemy, Gricheno played his way in the Flight B doubles final by taking down duos from host Columbia as well as NEC rival Monmouth.
