Spillane remained perfect on the season and notches his first NEC Rookie of the Week award as a result. The freshman placekicker scored 14 points in Monmouth’ 44-17 road win over Northeast Conference rival Duquesne. Helping the Hawks snap a three-game season-opening slide, Spillane connected on all three of his field goal tries - from distances of 20, 45, 34 yards - and has made the first seven attempts of his collegiate career. He produced Monmouth’s first points of the second half by kicking a career-long 45-yarder midway through the third quarter. Spillane went 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts at Duquesne, upping his season total to 12 PATs.
