Mercado's efforts on the court this past week made her a well-deserved third-straight Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week selection. The dynamic freshman helped Sacred Heart secure defeats against league opponents Quinnipiac, St. Francis (NY) and Long Island in straight sets. The outside hitter slated weekend totals of 36 kills, a .203 attack percentage, 21 digs and three blocks. She continued her weekend habit of notching double-double figures in the kills and digs category as she put down 11 kills and registered 10 digs against the Terriers. Mercado had her most efficient match versus Long Island, firing 13 kills and hitting a .409 clip.
