Labarthe ran her season-opening win streak to seven matches before falling in the final round of her bracket at the Eastern Championship hosted by Army. She advanced to the C Flight title tilt by posting three consecutive wins, all in straight sets. First, she knocked off Kate Donnelly of NEC rival Sacred Heart, 6-2, 6-3. In the quarterfinal round, Labarthe made quick work of Marist’s Maria Eduarda Yurgel, 6-2, 6-1. The first-year Bobcat then earned a ticket to the final by picking up another 6-2, 6-1 win over Pittsburgh’s Jocelyn Lu. Collecting a third NEC rookie award in the season’s first three weeks, Labarthe owns a 7-1 singles record as a collegian. Her singles streak began with four consecutive wins and a Flight B title at the Quinnipiac Invitational.
