Mills placed 24th in the loaded field at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State, to garner NEC Athlete of the Week distinction. The junior ran the fastest time (26:07) for all Red Flash runners at the meet, averaging a brisk 5:01 minutes per mile for the 5.1 mile course. He was one of only two runners to finish in the top-25 that were not members of one of the seven teams ranked regionally, according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
