Lucy Gildein Award adidas/NEC Player of the Week Week Of 9/13/2010 Sport Women's Soccer School Sacred Heart Year Position Hometown High School Gildein grabs both adidas/NEC Player and Rookie of the Week awards after netting two goals during Sacred Heart’s 4-2 defeat of Rider on Sunday to give the Pioneer offensive boost they needed to register another tally in their win column. Rider jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the first half of the game, only to be answered by the freshman’s equalizer which would permanently switch the offensive momentum in favor of the red and white. Later, the forward struck again when she assisted on teammate Amanda Stiles' goal that pushed Sacred Heart ahead with a 2-1 lead. Gildein finished off her day by putting away a shot into top right corner from just outside of 18-yard box to further prevent a Rider comeback. Gildein started off her weekend by helping the Pioneers secure a 2-2 stalemate with Stony Brook as she added a goal in the first half. The rookie has scored a goal in each of Sacred Heart’s last three games.
