Fierro earned the distinction of adidas/NEC Defensive Player of the Week after continuing to rack up impressive numbers in her senior campaign. She made 10 saves over the Hawk’s first two matches, adding to her career shutout mark of 31 in 63 games played. Fierro opened the season on Friday against NJIT with a blanking and one save. On Sunday the netminder was put to the test, stopping nine shots and preventing an equalizer in the process for the 1-0 victory over No. 17 Rutgers. In her time as a Hawk, Fierro won 41 total matches and rewrote the Monmouth record for a single-season high of 14 shutouts in 2009. Her most recent pair of shutouts move the keeper within four of surpassing all-time Hawk leader Lori Houlihan (34.5).
