Topa quieted the Northeast Conference’s top offensive team on the way to a complete-game victory. The freshman right-hander tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball against Central Connecticut State, which finished the regular season averaging 8.8 runs per contest. Topa limited the Blue Devils, who sport a NEC-high .353 team batting average, to five hits in the 11-1 win. Preventing the possibility of a CCSU series sweep, Topa struck out five and walked only two. After surrendering a run on a first-inning groundout, Topa shut the door on the Blue Devils and went the distance for the fifth time this season.
