Scribner shut out Wagner in Sunday’s finale to secure a NEC series victory for Sacred Heart. The rookie right-hander threw 9.0 innings of three-hit ball on the way to a 5-0 road win that bumped his season record to 4-3. Scribner set down the first 13 Seahawks he faced before a fifth-inning bunt single broke up his bid for a perfect game. He allowed no extra-base hits and prevented Wagner from moving a runner to third base over the first 8.2 frames. Scribner struck out four batters, walked two, and tossed six 1-2-3 innings.
