Brown’s 10 hits and five RBI helped Bryant to a four-game weekend sweep of NEC preseason favorite Wagner. The Bulldogs’ freshman outfielder slugged 1.058 for the series and crossed home plate eight times. He had an extra-base hit and scored at least one run in all four conference contests. Brown batted an even .500 (11-for-22) over a five-game sample last week, which included a mid-week non-league affair at UConn. After a 1-for-5 day against the nationally-ranked Huskies, Brown exploded for three hits, two runs, and two RBI in the series opener with Wagner. He led off the finale by blasting his sixth home run of the season, finishing the game 4-for-6 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored.
