Ramirez contributed to Wagner’s winning week from behind the plate and in the batter’s box. The freshman catcher threw out 50 percent (4-of-8) of attempting base-stealers and hit .389 over a five-game sample. Ramirez went 7-for-18 at the plate with five runs scored, four RBI, two doubles, and a home run. He opened the week by doubling and scoring a run in Wagner’s 5-2 victory over St. John’s. The starting backstop for all four games of the Seahawks’ weekend NEC series at Fairleigh Dickinson, Ramirez recorded six hits, four runs, and four RBI to help Wagner reclaim first place in the league standings. He enjoyed a career day by going 4-for-5 with a homer, three runs, and three RBI in the series finale, a 14-4 Wagner win. Ramirez was right in the middle of Wagner’s six-run sixth-inning rally in Game 3, singling and scoring the tying run of an eventual 11-9 triumph.
