After temporarily yielding the NEC Player of the Week award to Quinnipiac’s John Hughes, Kasyanov reclaims the honor that he has held five out of a possible six weeks this semester. Kasyanov and the Pioneers contested only one match last week, and came away with a key defeat of NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson. The third-year Pioneer topped FDU’s Dominic Hemy in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. The victory was Kasyanov’s sixth straight in singles play and raised his season record to 13-3 in dual matches. He also teamed up with Nick Mazzarese to notch a win at No. 3 doubles.
