Mutekanga extended his Northeast Conference lead in the 800-meter run and set Long Island’s program record in the event at last weekend’s Florida Relays . Shaving 1.35 seconds off his season-opening time from last month’s USC Trojan Relays, Mutekanga crossed the line in 1:49.28 to finish sixth overall amongst a field of 49 competitors. His time easily surpassed the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships.
