Lundy wrestles the Road Runner Sports NEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week award away from teammate Vincent Elardo thanks to his performance at the Monmouth Hawk Outdoor Opener. Lundy was the meet’s top collegiate finisher in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Topping Elardo’s conference-leading marks in the shot put and discus this past weekend, Lundy now sits first amongst NEC throwers in both events. He put the shot 16.70m (54’ 9.50”) to take the meet title and qualify for the IC4A Championships in the process. Lundy’s discus mark of 47.16m (154’ 9”)was first amongst collegiate entries at the meet and gives him the NEC lead by more than 1.00 meter. Although his winning hammer throw distance of 54.47m (178’ 8”) stands second on the NEC performance list, it is more than enough to qualify him for the IC4As.
