Sjoerds is back occupying the NEC Rookie of the Week post thanks to his performance at No. 1 doubles. Partnering with Marco Jemersic for the first time all season, Sjoerds posted a pair of victories over formidable opponents. First, Sjoerds and his teammate defeated the top doubles tandem -- Radek Langer and Gabriel Meana -- from defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference member South Carolina State, 8-2. Their next victims were Jeremy Langer and Santiago Gruter of nationally-ranked Indiana. Sjoerds and Jemersic bested their Hoosier counterparts by an 8-2 margin. Indiana is No. 40 in the latest edition of the ITA Poll.
