Ramirez will likely remember last weekend’s trip to Richmond for years to come. Batting .455 (5-for-11), the rookie catcher recorded at least one hit in every game of Wagner’s three-game series against the Atlantic 10 member. He drove in four runs over the weekend and scored another two. Ramirez slugged a double and home run, the first extra-base hits of his collegiate career, as part of the Seahawks’ 11-9 victory in the series opener. He finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. He led off the fourth inning with a home run to bring Wagner within 4-2 before tying the game at 4-4 by lacing a two-run double his next time up. He laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the eventual winning run to third base in the 10th inning. He logged another RBI double in the second game of the series before recording a two-hit performance in the finale. Behind the plate, he threw out four would-be base stealers.
