Love has been the backbone of the Bulldogs' success this season, starting all six games while playing all but one minute in goal for the 4-2 Bulldogs en route to NEC Defensive Player of the Month. He has been showing no signs of a sophomore slump, currently leading the nation in both goals against average (4.85) and save percentage, posting a .698 mark despite facing 167 shots already on the year, only allowing 29 goals. Love was stellar between the pipes in the season-opener against No. 4 North Carolina, posting a career-high 20 saves and holding one of the nation's top scoring offenses to just five goals while facing a whopping 42 shots, including 30 in the first half. The Darien, CT native posted a .800 save percentage against the Tar Heels while making a number of impressive saves en route to being named LAXnews.com's Player of the Week and helping the Bulldogs earn a No. 20 ranking from LAXnews. He came up big again 10 days later in a key 7-6 win over an Army side who was receiving votes in the national polls, making 13 saves on 37 shots faced and holding strong in the final minutes to preserve the win. Love made nine saves in wins over both Vermont and Bellarmine, allowing just four goals in each matchup. He also recorded nine stops in a close loss to Fairfield and has not allowed more than six goals in any contest, collecting 67 saves (11.2 saves per game) to anchor the BU defense. The sophomore has 17 ground balls on the season, good to knot him for second on the team. He has also forced four caused turnovers, also tied for second on the squad.
