Babic, the reigning NEC Player of the Year, picks up her first weekly honor of the spring semester. The veteran Blackbird posted victories in both singles and doubles play during LIU’s lone match on last week’s docket. Leading the charge in an eventual 6-1 team victory over Utah State, Babic bested her No. 1 singles counterpart, Ksusha Nazarova, in straight sets (6-3, 6-2). Earlier in the match, she teamed up with freshman Aleksandra Pavlovic for an 8-1 win over Utah State’s No. 1 doubles tandem of Ksusha Nazarova and Olga Tatarchenko.
