Schwartzburg earns this week’s Akadema/NEC Pitcher of the Week honor throwing three complete games this week as the Bobcats continued their play in Southern Florida. She started the week in game one in a doubleheader against Toledo. The sophomore threw all seven innings in the 2-1 victory, striking out 15 batters. The strikeout count was a single-game career high for Schwartzburg, as her previous record was 12. She went on to pitch two complete game shutouts in the USF Under Armour Showcase against Pittsburgh and Jacksonville State, striking out 13 batters apiece in each game. The Californian also pitched in two innings of relief on the week. The right-handed hurler has been the starter in the circle for five of the Bobcats' six wins this season.
