Csakai was nearly impossible to retire during Wagner’s three games last week. Batting leadoff, the speedy centerfielder reached base safely 11 times in 14 plate appearances on his way to logging a .786 on-base percentage over the three-game sample that saw the Seahawks play two at Bethune-Cookman and one against Virginia Commonwealth. Csakai went 5-for-8 (.625) at the plate to go along with five walks, one hit-by-pitch, and four stolen bases. After a strikeout and groundout in his first two at-bats of the week, Csakai worked his way on base in each of his next nine plate appearances. He started by stroking a single for one of Wagner’s four hits in a setback at Bethune-Cookman. Spearheading the Seahawks’ winning effort against VCU, the veteran outfielder reached base six times and scored two runs. Csakai went 3-for-3 with three walks in the 12-11 victory. Later that day, in Wagner’s second game of the week against Bethune-Cookman, Csakai recorded a hit, two bases on balls, and hit-by-pitch as the team fell, 14-9.
