Stein compiled the highest total pinfall of any Northeast Conference competitor at last weekend’s ECAC Championships. Knocking down 2,214 pins over 106 frames, spanning both traditional and baker play, the St. Francis (NY) senior accounted for a 20.04 frame average. Stein filled 87.9 percent of her frames throughout the tournament and successfully converted 46.7 percent of her strike attempts. Her 194.60 five-game traditional average ranked fourth amongst all individuals competing at the championship meet. Stein opened traditional play by rolling a high game of 233 against NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson, the No. 3-ranked team in the latest edition of the NTCA Top 20 Poll. She accounted for a 186 game during the bowling’s version of the Battle of Brooklyn, which saw the Terriers’ defeat rival Long Island by a score of 892-737. Two games later, Stein’s 188 helped St. Francis sink No. 9 Adelphi.
