Markison won another two singles matches last week to capture a second straight NEC Player of the Week honor. She remained undefeated in singles play this semester by besting opponents from Army and Providence. Accounting for Quinnipiac’s lone point in a 6-1 team defeat to Army, Markison defeated Kristin Beehler at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3. She needed even less time to notch another straight-sets win against her No. 3 counterpart from Providence, downing Melanie Albert, 6-1, 6-0. Markison has won 10 of 11 singles matches during the 2009-10 academic year.
