Porter quickly returned to her 2008 form to start the season, going 4-1 in six starts with a sparkling 1.22 ERA. Accounting for four of LIU’s six wins, the senior only allowed 33 hits in 34.1 innings and sent down 20 batters on strikes. In the week's final showdown, Porter struck out six while only giving up four hits in the Blackbirds' 4-1 win over Florida Gulf Coast.
