Wisseh takes home his third Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week award this season after averaging 24.0 points, 7.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a pair of wins that clinched an NEC Tournament berth for the Blackbirds. He also shot 50.0 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from the line. Wisseh began his week on Thursday with a game-high 27 points, along with six rebounds and five assists in LIU's' 68-62 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. He netted seven points during a 14-0 first half run that gave the Blackbirds a ten-point lead and hit a key layup with 39 seconds left on the clock that stretched LIU's lead to five. Wisseh then collected his fourth double-double of the year with 21 points and a season-high 10 assists in an 83-74 win over Monmouth on Saturday. The Brooklyn, NY native scored all of his points in the second half, including LIU’s final 10 points over the last two minutes of the contest after the Hawks pulled to within three. Wisseh currently ranks third in the NEC with 17.6 ppg and leads the circuit with 5.7 apg. He has also joined the NEC’s exclusive 1,500-point, 500-assist club this season - just eight players in conference history have reached the milestone - with 1,621 points (sixth all-time at LIU) and 516 dimes over the course of his career.
