Richards produced the NEC’s top-ranked long jump mark while taking on a competitive field at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. His leap of 7.34m (24’ 1”) bested the IC4A Championship qualifying standard by 32 centimeters. Richards wrestled the Road Runner Sports NEC rookie award away from CCSU’s Aaron Radden, last week’s winner, and is now a three-time recipient of the honor.
