Smith had a great week for the Bulldogs, placing first in five events over two meets and set a new school record in the 200 meter freestyle (1:59.48) against Holy Cross, just edging past teammate Jess Looney's 2006 record of 1:59.73. She later took top honors in the 100 (1:09.20) and 200 meter breaststroke (2:30.95) in BU's win. On Saturday, Smith took home two more first place finishes in a loss at Stony Brook as the freshman won the 200 meter butterfly (2:20.14) and 200 meter individual medley (2:16.73). This is the Belmont, MA native’s second NEC Swimmer of the Week selection of the season.
