Smith parlayed a pair of personal records into the Road Runner Sports NEC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week award. Competing at the Harvard University Open, the second-year Pioneer surpassed the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championship in the weight throw. Her fling of 16.62m (54’ 6.5”) placed her second amongst a field of 48 at Harvard and also ranks second on the NEC Performance List. She logged a fifth-place finish in the shot put with her top mark of 12.70m (41’ 8”) ranking fourth amongst NEC leaders.
