Last week it was sprinter Angelica Johnson, this time it is junior distance runner Kimberly DeLoreto claiming the Road Runner Sports NEC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week award on behalf of Sacred Heart. Fresh off her 2009 NEC individual cross country crown, DeLoreto opened her indoor season by winning the 5K at the Harvard University Open. Her personal-best time of 17:20.76 easily surpassed the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships and made her the early-season NEC leader in the event.
