Amarouch’s first collegiate indoor competition resulted in a pair of first-place finishes. The rookie runner won the 1000-meter race at the Fordham Classic by clocking in at 2:33.90. Later in the meet, he ran the third leg of the winning 1600-meter relay team. His 1000-meter time is fewer than four seconds shy of the IC4A qualifying standard.
