Smith saved his best rushing performance for his final career appearance at a rain-soaked Bulldog Stadium. The senior tailback rushed for 239 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first three quarters of Bryant’s 35-12 victory over Saint Francis (PA). Smith’s yardage output is the highest the NEC has seen this season. The Brooklyn native, who is in his third season as a Bulldog after transferring from Howard, averaged 10.4 yards per rush attempt. Ten of his 23 carries resulted in either a first down or touchdown. Smith’s 23-yard touchdown run opened the game’s scoring 3:10 into the first quarer. He doubled Bryant’s lead with a 20-yard scoring burst 1:48 later. Smith’s 77-yard touchdown scamper, which came with 4:02 left in the second quarter, was the game’s final score and the second-longest rush in the NEC this year.
