Kipruto paced all NEC competitors at the UAlbany Invitational (Oct. 17), running the 8K course in a career-low time of 25:18.8. The freshman’s performance was good for a seventh-place standing overall in a field of 189 harriers from 24 institutions. Kipruto, now a two-time Road Runner Sports NEC Rookie of the Week award recipient, was the second overall freshman to cross the line as he has now led the Blackbirds in each of their last two races.
