Bathold was a driving force behind Robert Morris’ defensive effort that snapped a six-game slide and delivered the Colonials’ first shutout since 2006. The junior defensive back recorded four solo tackles, one forced fumble, one pass break-up , one blocked kick, and a key 25-yard interception return for a touchdown. With Robert Morris clinging to a 7-0 third-quarter lead, Bathold stepped in front of a Red Flash pass and returned it 25 yards down the far sideline to double the Colonials’ advantage. He saved RMU three points in the first quarter when he blocked a field goal attempt.
